_This photograph was taken in the Dupont State Forest in Western North Carolina. The stream was super shallow and flowing quite quickly over a flat rocky streambed.
I put the camera right down onto the surface of the water (I actually had to watch out to avoid water streaming into the lens) to catch the reflections of the sky and the green, yellow and orange leaves.
I just started shooting some video whenever I go out to look for subjects for my custom photographic art or commissioned artwork. Usually, something will catch my eye and I'll just stop, set up the camera and let it run to capture something still and meditative. In this case, watching the video helped me remember how the light and reflections moved across the water's surface, something I tried to capture when choosing the still photograph.
The music accompanying the video is me playing the hammered dulcimer— a Swedish Walking Tune I learned from Ken Kolodner and recorded last spring in my ongoing journey of recording enough tunes for a CD.
