Laurie McCarriar uses photography as source and palette to create digital images printed on canvas. Her work captures the colors, textures and patterns in the landscape and details of the natural world.
Photos taken in nature are but a starting point for the artwork Laurie creates on the computer. Images are often combined and layered. Connections between a series of seemingly random images are often revealed through display in a grid.

The Burren Ring, one of Laurie’s latest projects, developed during a trip to Ireland in September 2009, explores connection and pattern in landscape from an aerial perspective. Consisting of sixteen interchangeable panels, the Ring allows the viewer to change the landscape and the pattern at a moment’s notice.
